Addo Elephant National Park
Permanent vacancies exist for three (3) Attendant: Rooms positions at Addo Elephant National Park in the Tourism Department. The successful candidates will report to the Camp supervisor.
Successful candidate will be required to provide own transport and accommodation as the park does not have staff accommodation.
Requirements
Grade 12 certificate (Std 10) required or equivalent.
1 – 2 years’ experience in Housekeeping.
1 year experience in the Tourism Industry.
Proficiency in two languages (including English) is essential.
Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
Time Management skills.
Good communication skills.
Planning and organizing skills.
Occupational Health and Safety certificate.
First Aid level 1 certificate.
Housekeeping certificate.
Responsibilities
Cleaning in and around chalets (changing bed linen, sweeping and mopping floors, polish furniture, empty trash containers) etc.
Cleaning public areas (ablution blocks, admin offices, reception area) to ensure that high levels of hospitality standards are maintained.
Reporting abnormalities including inventory shortages, breakages, and equipment and
maintenance faults to supervisor.
Control inventory items and ensure that the appropriate amounts of inventory items are present in chalets.
Report all lost and found property to Supervisor.
Ensure that keys are controlled and well always secured.
Assist with laundry duties when required, monthly stock takes on linen, cleaning materials and equipment.
