Arrival of Trainees at SAPS Academies Underway
Pretoria, 13 February 2025 – The South African Police Service (SAPS) has officially begun training its 2024/2025 intake of recruits, with 3,359 trainees currently undergoing their initial training.
According to the SAPS, the arrival of trainees at various academies across the country commenced last Monday. The police service has adopted a staggered approach to manage the high number of recruits efficiently.
A second group of successful candidates will soon receive written notifications instructing them to report for training. The SAPS has also confirmed that the remaining 2,186 trainees will begin their training by the end of February 2025.
The recruitment and selection process, which has seen significant interest from aspiring law enforcement officers, is being finalized in phases. Applicants who have completed the process are urged to remain patient as they await further communication.
