About the Role
The Independent Institute of Education (IIE), a leader in private higher education in South Africa, is looking for an Admissions Officer to join the Vega Sandton campus.
This role reports directly to the Head: Student Recruitment and is central to managing student applications, admissions, and registrations while ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Admissions Administration
Work with the Student Recruitment team to handle admission queries and finalise student applications.
Evaluate applications against admission criteria and communicate outcomes.
Manage admission waitlists, declined/expired offers, and new offers of study.
Handle documentation, issue admission letters, and follow up on conditional admissions.
Ensure smooth processing of student admissions through to registration.
Collaborate with Finance and Admissions Managers to resolve admission-related issues.
Support national admission projects and ensure compliance with policies.
Registration Administration
Place holds on accounts for outstanding documents or conditional admissions.
Verify registrations against admission criteria.
Manage transfers, SLP/NQP registrations, and external credit applications.
Ensure compliance with international student policies (e.g., SAQA, USAf, study visas).
Re-audit student files as per Registrar deadlines.
Track and monitor conditional admissions throughout the year.
Reporting & Compliance
Maintain communication with the Assistant Registrar to resolve Registrar queries.
Ensure compliance with POPIA and other institutional requirements.
Perform ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks when needed.

Minimum Requirements
Qualification: National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF 6). Degree (NQF 7) preferred.
Experience: At least 3 years’ admin experience, with 1+ year in higher education admissions/compliance.
Other: Driver’s licence (if required for travel) and flexibility for ICT shift hours.
