ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Buyers Assistant role is a full-time position supporting the Foods Buying team with the operational and administrative functions involved in the buying process.

The successful candidate will work with the Buyer and Buying team to capture buying-related information, place and process orders, manage invoices and supplier information, respond to queries and check that data is accurate.

The role requires someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented and able to work efficiently while meeting expectations.

  • Capture and load retail prices accurately.
  • Resolve store queries raised as incidents in a timely manner and range or derange products as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely loading of newly listed products on the Buying platform as approved by the Buyer.
  • Set system flags to range or list products at store level.
  • Capture deranging in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing of invoices, costing documents, new article forms and supplier update documents.
  • Generate comprehensive reports for action and review by the Buyer.
  • Monitor and track progress and performance against KPIs.
  • Proactively resolve issues or escalate them to the Buyer when required.
