Role Purpose
As a Call Centre Agent, you’ll handle inbound calls, address customer concerns, and contact potential and existing clients to generate sales orders. You’ll also be responsible for resolving queries and maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service and maintain a professional attitude with a focus on resolving issues during the first call.
Communication & Collaboration: Liaise with other departments regarding order specifics or special requests.
Data Entry: Accurately capture information into systems from various sources daily.
Operational Compliance: Adhere to all operating procedures, ensuring quality and consistency in calls.
Order Management: Handle daily tasks like releasing customer sales orders and securing authorizations from buying groups.
Cross-Training: Learn other departmental functions, including HPC and Milling, and handle free stock orders.
Verification: Confirm and enter orders accurately against customer submissions.
Teamwork: Contribute to smooth operations within the order processing team.
Call Handling: Respond to all calls promptly, in line with set standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Matric (Grade 12); a relevant sales qualification is a plus.
Experience
Essential: 1–2 years in a customer-facing role.
Desirable: Experience in FMCG, call centre/telesales, and working with Excel (1–2 years each).
Skills & Knowledge
Understanding of basic call centre procedures and FMCG operations is desirable.
Strong written communication, problem-solving, numeracy, and proactive thinking.
Familiarity with organizational processes and teamwork principles.
