The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for a permanent Driver Messenger: Records position within the Sport, Recreation, Arts & Culture (SRAC) Department.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 8
  • Ability to read and write
  • Valid Code B driver’s licence with PrDP
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a similar environment

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and collecting records, mail and goods within the assigned area.

Key duties include:

  • Deliver and collect records, mail and goods as required.
  • Ensure vehicle logbooks are completed by users.
  • Dispatch vehicles when they are due for servicing.
  • Complete requisition orders for vehicle servicing and repairs.
  • Facilitate queries relating to vehicle servicing and repairs.
  • Check vehicles for damage, kilometre readings, oil, water and general working condition.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections.
  • Report any vehicle damage.
  • Assist with pool car dispatches when required.
  • Perform opening and closure duties at the Corporate SRAC Department building.
  • Carry out non-specialised maintenance at the building.
  • Operate the security system of the Corporate SRAC Department building.

Salary and Benefits

The position offers a basic annual salary of R215,616 to R295,764, together with applicable benefits.
