Driver: Light Duty – Motus Corporation | Johannesburg

Motus Corporation is looking for a Light Duty Driver to join the Parts Incorporated Africa (PIA) team at the Meadowview Warehouse in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

This is a permanent position within the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering and collecting goods while following the company’s dispatch, delivery and proof-of-delivery procedures.

About the Driver Role

The purpose of the position is to ensure the safe delivery of goods to and from customers while making sure that all required procedures are followed.

The driver will work from the Meadowview Warehouse and will be responsible for completing deliveries according to designated routes, route schedules and trip sheets.

The role requires someone who can manage deliveries responsibly, communicate effectively and ensure that the required documentation is correctly handled.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for several operational and delivery-related duties.

Vehicle Inspections

The driver must inspect the vehicle before departure and again when returning.

Inspection lists must be handed back to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for signing before a new inspection list is issued.

Any errors or problems identified on the vehicle must be reported immediately before the vehicle leaves the premises.

Loading Parcels

Parcels must be checked together with the supervisor before they are loaded into the vehicle.

The driver must always follow the New Dispatch Loading procedure when loading goods.

Customer Deliveries

The driver will deliver parcels to customers on the designated route according to the applicable route schedule and trip sheet.

The driver must also ensure that customers follow the required Proof of Delivery (POD) procedure.

All documents and collection slips allocated to the driver’s trip sheet must be delivered or collected as required, with the necessary POD received.

Trip Sheets and Documentation

Drivers must sign trip sheets in at the POD clerk.

They must also make sure that all documents assigned to their name are complete and returned the following day.

Outstanding trip sheets remain the driver’s responsibility, and the driver may be held liable for claims relating to No POD queries.

The vacancy also specifies that there must be no stock transfers between customer shops.

Vehicle Maintenance

The driver will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning the vehicle.

Any problems experienced with the vehicle must be reported immediately to the Dispatch Supervisor.

Drivers must also report any problems encountered during deliveries or relating to PODs to the Dispatch Supervisor.
