Overview:
Rand Water is seeking two Gardeners responsible for maintaining and developing Environmental Management System (EMS) landscapes and facilities. The role involves performing general horticultural tasks using various gardening tools, equipment, and machinery in a labour-intensive environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 or N3 qualification.
At least 6 months of experience in a similar environment.
Ability to operate horticultural equipment such as brush cutters, lawnmowers, and knapsack sprayers.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain landscaping and facility areas through general site upkeep.
Perform cleaning, sweeping, watering, and planting tasks.
Apply fertilizers, compost, and mulching materials as required.
Load and offload plants, goods, tools, and debris.
Assist with decorations when necessary.
Cut grass and maintain grounds at Bulk Water Distribution Reservoir Sites and servitudes.
Knowledge Required:
Operation of basic hand tools and horticultural machinery (e.g., lawnmowers, brush cutters).
Basic plant care and maintenance knowledge.
Awareness of workplace safety practices.
Skills:
Good communication abilities.
Practical horticultural and landscaping skills.
