About the Role
Wynberg Boys’ Junior School’s Governing Body is inviting passionate and dedicated individuals to apply for Teacher Assistant positions in Grade R and N. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are studying toward, or interested in pursuing, an Early Childhood Development (ECD) or Foundation Phase teaching qualification.
The ideal candidate should have a genuine love for working with young children in a nurturing, learner-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Classroom & Learner Support
Supervise learners during arrival, break times, transitions, and dismissal.
Prepare, organize, and pack away classroom materials, play areas, and learning stations.
Assist with classroom management and the distribution of learning materials.
Provide one-on-one learning support to students—guiding and encouraging without completing their work.
Accompany learners to specialist lessons, outdoor activities, and swimming sessions.
Monitor bathroom routines and ensure health and safety standards are met.
Administrative & Operational Support
Manage attendance registers, homework folders, and pupil records.
Assist with photocopying, typing, laminating, and filing learning materials.
Operate and set up educational tools such as computers, smartboards, and audio-visual aids.
Maintain classroom cleanliness and hygiene, including sanitizing tables and washing equipment.
Support teachers with general tasks and ensure the learning environment is well-organized and safe.
Minimum Requirements
Passion for early childhood development and education.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat all students and staff with respect.
Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
