Role Overview
The Head of Department (HOD) for the FET Phase will oversee teaching, learning, and administration within the high school.
This role involves guiding educators and students toward academic excellence while fostering a supportive and disciplined school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage high school operations, including administration and discipline.
Deliver forward-thinking, engaging, and inspiring education.
Model integrity, professionalism, and leadership.
Foster strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
Communicate effectively and respectfully within the school environment.
Oversee the following areas of accountability:
Academic delivery and curriculum management
Assessment and reporting
Student behaviour management
Brand representation and stakeholder engagement
Administration, health, and safety compliance
Qualifications and Experience
Degree (NQF Level 7) with PGCE or B.Ed (FET) specializing in relevant subjects.
SACE registration and police clearance are mandatory.
2–5 years’ management experience and subject teaching expertise.
Strong computer and digital literacy.
Skills and Attributes
