About the Role
Protea Hotels by Marriott, a leading hospitality brand in Africa, is seeking a Kitchen Administrator to provide administrative support within the hotel.
This role involves managing office systems, handling documentation, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations while ensuring excellent service for both staff and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Enter, update, and retrieve information using computer systems and databases.
Prepare documents such as letters, memos, reports, and spreadsheets.
Organize and maintain filing systems (digital and paper-based).
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and correspondence.
Operate standard office equipment (photocopiers, fax, telephone, etc.).
Support the team by ensuring efficient communication and information flow.
Assist with guest inquiries and provide professional, friendly service.
Uphold company policies, maintain confidentiality, and protect hotel assets.
Guest Interaction
Welcome and acknowledge guests warmly.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest queries and requests.
Anticipate guest needs and assist individuals with disabilities when required.
Skills & Attributes
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Telephone etiquette and customer service orientation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and office systems.
Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to multi-task.
Professional appearance, integrity, and reliability.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/move items up to 10kg.
Ability to work with computers and office equipment for extended periods.
