This position is within the support services environment at a public hospital. The role focuses on handling and maintaining hospital linen, ensuring that wards and units have clean and sufficient supplies.
It is a practical, hands-on role suited to individuals who are comfortable with routine tasks and physical work in a healthcare setting.
Duties:
Sorting and counting dirty linen from hospital wards and units
Distributing clean linen to different departments
Assisting with stock taking and managing linen supplies
Monitoring stock levels in laundry rooms and replenishing when needed
Changing curtains in wards and units
Cleaning the laundry area
Operating and assisting with laundry machines and equipment
Performing additional duties as assigned by a supervisor
Requirements:
Have an ABET Level 2 qualification or equivalent
Have basic literacy and numeracy skills
Can communicate effectively and work well with others
Are willing to perform physical labour
Are comfortable working under pressure
Are able to work shifts and rotate duties
Can follow procedures in a structured work environment
