🚚 About the Role
AECI Plant Health is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join the warehouse team in Lilianton. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking, loading, and handling materials safely and efficiently, while maintaining high warehouse standards.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Pick and prepare stock for loading according to picking slips.
Communicate shortages or missing products to the Warehouse Coordinator or Despatch Controller.
Apply the FIFO system (First In, First Out) and manage expired products correctly.
Load and offload vehicles safely and accurately.
Inspect and report any damaged or leaking products immediately.
Repack and correctly label any damaged products.
Operate a forklift and reach truck safely, completing daily checklists.
Maintain good housekeeping and SHEQ standards in the warehouse.
Participate in stock counts and ensure proper palletisation, barcoding, and shrink-wrapping of goods.
Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions promptly.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric
Minimum 1 year experience in logistics, distribution, production, or warehousing
Valid Forklift and Reach Truck licenses (with current medical fitness)
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Basic computer literacy
Knowledge of hazardous chemicals and transport regulations
Physically fit, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team
High attention to detail and able to work under pressure
