The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality invites suitably qualified and committed applicants to apply for the Metro Police Training Programme. A total of 200 training opportunities are available for the 2025 intake.

Requirements:
● Must be a South African citizen
● Must have a valid South African Identity Document
● Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4)
● Valid Driver’s License (Code B/EB) – must be obtained before appointment

● No criminal record and no pending cases
● Physically and mentally fit (candidates will undergo medical and fitness assessments)
● Between 18 and 35 years of age
● Must reside within the Tshwane municipal boundaries

Training Programme Overview:
Selected candidates will undergo formal training in accordance with the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act, Municipal Police Service Act, and other applicable

legislation. The training includes academic and practical instruction covering:
● Traffic and law enforcement
● Crime prevention
● Community policing
● Firearm competency and physical fitness

Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates may be considered for permanent appointment as Metro Police Officers, subject to the availability of posts.

Stipend:
A monthly stipend will be provided to trainees for the duration of the training.
