🧭 About the Role
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is seeking six Reaction Team Officers to join their Johannesburg Cash Centre. The purpose of this position is to provide first-line emergency response and tactical security support in various security-related situations.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies and security incidents.
Contain and manage physical security threats within SARB premises.
Support executive protection operations (both mobile and static).
Provide basic medical assistance during emergencies.
Operate and monitor security systems and related equipment.
Perform routine security duties during non-emergency situations.
Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist management by providing accurate information and security insights.
Promote continuous improvement within the security function.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification.
Advanced Tactical Security Training (completed).
2–5 years’ experience in a tactical security environment.
Knowledge of:
Physical security operations (static & mobile)
Emergency response and disaster management
Firearm handling and crime scene management
Electronic security systems
Valid competency certificates for:
9mm pistol
Semi-automatic rifle
Shotgun
PSIRA Grade C registration (valid).
Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
Physically and medically fit for tactical operations.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
Familiarity with ERP systems and HCM Cloud Solution (advantageous).
Must obtain and maintain favourable security clearance.
