Job Purpose

This role focuses on delivering accurate, high-quality administrative work in line with established standards, procedures, and service level agreements (SLAs). The position requires consistency, attention to detail, patience, and the ability to complete tasks methodically. Success in this role is measured by producing error-free work that complies with defined regulations and procedures. The role is structured to develop a reliable technical specialist capable of consistently delivering quality output.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Support Assistant will be responsible for providing detailed and precise administrative support within agreed turnaround times.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12)

Experience & Knowledge

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative role within the Financial Services or Life Assurance industry

Basic understanding of the Life Assurance or Financial Services environment

Computer Literacy

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Internet, Outlook, and Excel

Personal & Interpersonal Skills

Duties and Responsibilities

Upload, track, and follow up on service requests, including premiums, beneficiary changes, debit orders, letters of authority, broker changes, policy amendments, changes of documentation or personal details, and claims

Check and capture applications:

Within 4 hours of receipt

With a minimum accuracy rate of 95%

Perform daily administrative and support tasks in line with routine procedures

Monitor incomplete applications and service requests, and communicate outstanding items to relevant parties

Follow up on outstanding requirements after requests have been logged

Complete annual assessments on the relevant systems

Provide administrative support to Life Specialists and intermediaries

Prepare and issue quotations and benefit statements to intermediaries

Take ownership of service level standards and ensure consistent achievement

Assist Life Specialists with the coordination and organisation of broker workshops
