Duties:
Prepare and inspect locomotives before departure
Assist with brake tests and start-up procedures
Handle coupling and uncoupling of wagons
Perform shunting activities in yards and sidings
Monitor signals and track conditions during trips
Assist during emergencies and incidents
Complete train journals and admin tasks
Ensure compliance with rail safety standards
Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric)
Must have Mathematics and/or Physical Science
Other Requirements:
Must be 21 years or older
Minimum height: 1.6m
Physically fit (vision, hearing, mental fitness required)
Able to carry heavy objects
Willing to work shifts
Medical assessments
Psychomotor tests (Vienna Testing System)
