Position Summary:
A full-time Yard Supervisor role is open in Port Elizabeth. We’re looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to oversee daily operations in the yard.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 5 years holding a Code 14 Driver’s License
Practical Code 14 driving experience is a strong advantage
Basic computer skills
Prior experience as a Yard Supervisor is essential
Technical or mechanical understanding
High energy and a positive attitude
Strong leadership, planning, and communication abilities
Excellent problem-solving skills
Willingness to work overtime when required
Ability to work independently while keeping open communication with management
Comfortable working under pressure
Main Responsibilities:
Manage daily yard operations
Ensure safety standards are followed
Coordinate effectively with different departments
Keep the yard well-organised and accessible for customers, drivers, staff, and vehicles
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Make sure all trucks have the correct load-securing equipment
Test and evaluate new driver applicants
Supervise and monitor yard activities
Comply with transportation regulations and safety protocols
Prioritise the safety of staff and equipment
Handle general daily tasks and responsibilities
Optimise fleet scheduling
