Division: Airchefs – Operations Support.

Job Purpose

The CSA/Driver is responsible for assembling flights, inspecting equipment, and delivering meals, beverages, and catering supplies to aircraft. The role ensures timely, accurate handovers to cabin crew in compliance with client specifications, aviation safety rules, hygiene standards, and operational timelines.


Key Responsibilities

Follow the company’s code of conduct and use correct PPE at all times.

Collect flight loading schedules from Operations and plan deliveries according to airline requirements.

Conduct vehicle inspections and book radios and vehicles as per company procedures.

Load flight equipment, trolleys, bins, and bars according to the flight schedule and aircraft layout.

Deliver and offload equipment at aircraft, remove used items, and confirm meal declarations with flight controllers.

Operate hydraulic hoist systems safely and according to procedure.

Return used equipment to the sanitation area and bars to the unit for cleaning and recycling.

Report any vehicle faults to the shift manager immediately.

Maintain cleanliness in all work areas in line with HACCP and food safety standards.

Communicate effectively with Operations throughout the shift.

Assemble trolleys, ovens, and special meal requests according to client and flight specifications.

Ensure all bar trolleys and catering items are available and correctly packed.

Present and hand over assembled trolleys to crew, ensuring everything matches the client’s menu and standards.

Coordinate with ramp agents and report any issues or deviations to the shift manager.

Adhere to all safety, security, HACCP, and operational policies.


Qualifications & Experience

Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.

Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a valid PDP.

Minimum 3 years of experience in in-flight catering or aircraft loading.

Practical training on aircraft types and loading configurations.

Must be willing to complete ACSA ramp safety and security training.

Must complete internal HACCP and food safety training.
