⚙️ Role Overview
As an Artisan Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting artisans with mobile machine maintenance and breakdowns — ensuring safety and compliance with South32’s commitment to Zero Harm.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Assist electricians with planned maintenance and inspections.
Safely use basic hand tools.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure all tools are in good condition.
Apply and uphold health, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Conduct risk assessments before tasks and identify potential hazards.
Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
Build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
🎓 Requirements
Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance (essential).
Knowledge of surface mining principles (advantageous).
Experience with electrical maintenance (advantageous).
Qualifications:
Grade 10 (internal applicants) or Grade 12 with Mathematics (external applicants).
Technical N2/N3 certificate (advantageous).
Valid driver’s license.
