Job Summary
This role supports the efficient and cost-effective production of pipe specials, ensuring all work meets required timelines, quality standards, and budget. The position also involves helping maintain the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and supporting overall production processes.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification
At least 1 year of relevant work experience
Able to perform physically demanding tasks
Key Responsibilities
Assist operators in fabricating pipes and pipe specials using appropriate machines and tools.
Clean machines and work areas, maintain good housekeeping, and help organize workflow.
Support quality control activities and promote quality awareness.
Help reduce consumable usage.
Assist with recording production data.
Provide support to artisans as needed.
Maintain customer focus and contribute to customer satisfaction.
Conduct mini risk assessments and comply with the OHS Act and environmental regulations.
Knowledge Required
Pipe fitting and assembling complex pipe specials.
Familiarity with welding/boilermaking tools and equipment.
Understanding centre lines and focal points of intricate pipe specials.
Basic marking, cutting, rolling, and welding processes.
Skills
Proper care and handling of tools and equipment.
Awareness of safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Ability to assist with marking, cutting, rolling, welding, and producing quality components.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to report information accurately.
