Are you a young individual from one of our host communities eager to take your first step into the professional world? The South Deep
Cadet Programme, part of the South Deep Social Development Programme and the National Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, offers a 12-month opportunity for unemployed youth with no prior formal work experience.
Who We Are Looking For
Preference will be given to:
Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) youth aged 18–34.
Applicants from the following host communities:
Bekkersdal, Zuurberkom, Thusanang, Hillshaven, Westonaria, Poortjie, Simunye, Kalbasfontein, Jachtfontein, and Westonaria Borwa.
To qualify as a host community applicant, you must:
Be a matriculated resident of one of the listed communities; or
Have obtained Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate or equivalent) from a host community school.
Requirements:
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Currently unemployed with no prior formal work experience.
Willing to work underground and/or in surface risk areas, including rotational shifts or extended hours.
Able to meet pre-employment checks, including relevant assessments, qualification and security clearances, and obtaining a certificate of fitness from the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.
