About the Role

FNB is looking for a Catering Assistant to help plan, organise, and deliver top-quality food and beverage services. This role focuses on exceeding customer expectations while maintaining efficiency, compliance, and cost control.


Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and executing daily catering operations and events.

Provide high-quality, professional food and beverage service.

Communicate and coordinate with the Catering Supervisor regarding daily functions and priorities.

Identify, manage, and escalate potential risks that could impact service or costs.

Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports.

Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, including:

Adhering to OSHACT standards for safe working conditions.

Identifying and managing HACCP risks.

Applying “clean as you go” principles.

Monitoring temperature logs and ensuring sanitisation.

Using cleaning chemicals safely and correctly.

Support quality assurance and compliance in all catering activities.

Take ownership of personal growth and professional development.


Minimum Requirements

Education: Matric or equivalent qualification.

Experience: Previous experience in catering, hospitality, or food service preferred.


Skills & Competencies

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and customer service.

High attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.

Ability to work independently and within a team.

A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
