About the Role
BP is seeking a Coastal Operations Coordinator to support safe, compliant, and efficient execution of fuel supply operations along South Africa’s coast.
The role works closely with the MPO team and Lead Operators to manage shipping, tankage, pipelines, terminals, and inventory, ensuring product security and value protection.
Key Responsibilities
Enter accurate trade data into Operations Workbench (OWB) and ISP
Manage distillates and light fuel movements in/out of Cape Town, East London, Mossel Bay, and Port Elizabeth
Appoint cargo inspectors and optimize costs (demurrage, wharfage, etc.)
Ensure compliance with HSSE and BP policies
Administer documentation, nominations, and letters of credit (where needed)
Monitor dashboards and reports, resolving issues promptly
Support Lead Operator with complex operational scenarios
File and manage documentation in SharePoint
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent
2–3 years’ experience in supply/logistics, ideally in supply operations
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and influencing skills
Ability to manage time, solve problems quickly, and work under pressure
Proven teamwork and networking skills
Innovative, analytical thinker with resilience and adaptability
