Purpose of the Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and manage the cold joining process on all hang-on assembly parts.
This includes working alongside geometry and hot joining technologies to ensure all outputs meet customer-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and control cold joining processes and outputs, making adjustments to meet customer requirements.
Apply analysis tools to evaluate process parameters and ensure compliance.
Incorporate, monitor, and adjust systems such as:
Intec Sealer
VisionTools
TOX systems
Engrotec Hemming systems
Kuka Robotics
Conduct geometry analysis of single and assembled parts (FMK & GOM Inspect).
Perform micro-sectioning analysis of sealer and hemming.
Apply problem-solving tools (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D methodology).
Ensure alignment with safety, quality, and customer requirements.
Compile technical and procedural documentation and provide training where necessary.

Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / NQF Level 6.
Qualified Artisan Millwright.
At least 10 years of experience in automotive/vehicle manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years of extensive hands-on experience with:
KUKA Robotics KRC4
Sames Kremlin sealer applications
VisionTools
Siemens PLC
BMW-specific customer requirements related to these processes
PAKII sealer analysis and methodology
Physical hemming applications in correlation with KUKA robotics
