Overview:
ANEW Hotel Centurion is seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join its team. The role involves preparing and serving high-quality food, desserts, and pastries in a busy kitchen environment that caters to both restaurant guests and function events.
The position also includes daily food preparation in line with hotel standards.
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12); additional culinary qualifications are a plus
At least 2 years of experience working as a chef
Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
Key Responsibilities:
Organize and store kitchen stock neatly for accurate inventory counts
Assist with monitoring daily stock levels in fridges, freezers, dry storage, and consumables
Ensure all kitchen equipment is checked and securely stored
Use only top-quality ingredients, adhering to proper rotation and hotel policies on stock handling
Verify that stock requisitions match actual issues, and report any mismatches to the relevant person immediately
