This position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about accuracy, confidentiality, and supporting government operations through effective record-keeping and digital data entry.

Working across various departments such as Health, Education, and Social Development, the Data Capturer will play a critical role in ensuring that quality data informs service delivery and policy direction.

Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Matric)
Basic computer literacy is essential
Experience:

Prior experience in data capturing, general administration, or clerical work will be an advantage
Familiarity with government systems and documentation is desirable but not mandatory

Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape (English, Afrikaans, or isiXhosa)
Good written and verbal communication skills

Technical and Soft Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data inconsistencies
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Time management and prioritisation skills
Confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive data

Data Capturing and Validation
Capture a variety of data from source documents into electronic formats using software and data management tools
Verify accuracy of data before and after entry

to ensure compliance with established standards
Perform regular data integrity checks and validation
Compare entered data with source documents to detect errors and correct inconsistencies

Administrative Functions
Photocopy, scan, file, and retrieve records as needed
Provide support to the supervisor and colleagues in administrative duties related to data management
