If you are between 18 and 25 years old and looking for your first real workplace experience, this 12-month internship gives you practical exposure in operations and customer service at one of the world’s largest logistics companies. You will earn a monthly living allowance while building skills that can open doors across the industry.

The programme is based in Midrand, Gauteng, and is open to candidates who have completed Matric and hold a post-matric certificate or diploma. You do not need prior work experience to apply.


About

This is a 12-month, full-time temporary internship programme based at DHL in Midrand, Gauteng. It is designed to give young people hands-on experience within a global logistics company, with exposure to both operations and customer service functions.

The programme includes structured learning, mentorship from experienced DHL professionals, and career-readiness  training. You will work in a supportive and inclusive environment where personal growth is encouraged. Upon completion, you will have practical experience, a professional network, and a stronger foundation for future employment.


WHO SHOULD APPLY

You must be between 18 and 25 years old
You must have recently completed Grade 12 / Matric
You must hold a post-matric qualification (Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent)
You must have no prior work experience
You must have good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
You must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills
You must demonstrate good numerical ability
You must have intermediate computer and MS Office skills
You must be eager to learn, grow, and contribute
You must not have previously participated in the YES Programme


Added advantage:

Any exposure to logistics, operations, or customer-facing roles will support your application, though it is not required

Responsibilities

Support daily operations within the DHL Express environment
Assist with customer service tasks and client interactions
Handle numerical and data-related duties accurately
Use computer systems and MS Office tools as part of daily work
Participate in structured learning and development activities
Engage with mentors and coaches to build workplace skills
Contribute to team objectives in a supportive and inclusive manner
Apply what you learn to real-world logistics and customer service challenges
