The Driver will support the Support Services Directorate by providing safe and reliable transport services for hospital operations.
The role involves transporting staff and patients, handling delivery and messenger duties, and ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained and used according to policy.
Requirements:
Have Grade 10 and at least 1–2 years driving experience
Hold a valid Code C1 driver’s licence with PDP
Have good time management skills and can follow schedules
Communicate well and work effectively in a team environment
Can work under pressure and handle confidential information
Are willing to work shifts and rotate when required
Duties:
The Driver will be responsible for a range of transport and support tasks, including:
Operating motor vehicles according to approved procedures
Obtaining trip authorities and completing vehicle logbooks
Inspecting vehicles and reporting defects for repairs
Checking fuel, oil, water, and tyre conditions
Safely transporting staff and patients to various destinations
Performing messenger and routine office support functions
Assisting with registry duties
Loading and offloading goods when required
Ensuring proper handling, control, and safekeeping of vehicles
Maintaining cleanliness and basic upkeep of vehicles
