About the Role
Weir Minerals is looking for a dedicated Fettler to support the casting process by cleaning, trimming, and finishing cast components to the required standards. This is an onsite position based in Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities
Safety
Fully commit to Weir’s zero-harm safety values.
Attend mandatory safety meetings at the start of each shift.
Wear correct PPE at all times and follow safety rules.
Technical Tasks
Remove runners, risers, and other excess materials from castings.
Fettle and smooth castings to meet quality standards.
Sort and place removed materials in the correct bins.
Repair surface defects where required.
Move finished castings to designated storage areas.
Monitor consumables and report low stock levels to the Shift Leader.
Operational Duties
Stack items safely in designated areas.
Meet daily production targets.
Complete TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) checklists.
Follow all company procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Report hazards or risks immediately.
Maintain quality control throughout the process.
Qualifications & Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) or 12–24 months relevant experience/training.
Valid driver’s license.
Valid forklift license.
Overhead crane certification.
