About the Role
National Brands Limited (NBL), part of AVI Limited, is home to some of South Africa’s most loved coffee and creamer brands – including Frisco, Koffiehuis, Hug in A Mug, House of Coffees, and Ellis Brown.
Based at our Isando Coffee & Creamer Factory, we are looking for a Food Safety Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team.
The successful candidate will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and play a key role in maintaining and improving food safety systems to protect consumer wellbeing and ensure compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee GMP audits, cleaning schedules, and pest control practices to uphold the highest food safety standards.
Manage cleaning, hygiene, sanitation, and pest control contracts.
Ensure site compliance with AIB, FSSC 22000, and HACCP systems.
Implement and improve the Allergen Control and HACCP programs.
Conduct Food Safety training and induction sessions for staff.
Manage the site’s micro environmental monitoring programme.
Minimum Requirements
Experience: 5 years in food industry quality assurance and food safety.
Qualifications: National Diploma/Degree in Food Technology (or equivalent).
Added Advantage: Certifications in FSSC 22000, AIB, and auditing.
Additional Competencies
Lead Auditor certification.
Strong analytical and investigative skills.
Proven ability to train, coach, and influence teams.
In-depth knowledge of audit compliance, pest control, GMPs, and food safety standards.
