Job Overview
Macsteel is seeking General Assistants on a limited-duration contract to support the production and warehouse functions.
The role involves ensuring smooth production operations, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with material handling, stock management, and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with general warehouse and production duties.
Ensure safe storage, pulling, picking, packing, and strapping of materials.
Carry out routine safety checks and report hazards or maintenance needs.
Support other departments when required.
Participate in stock takes.
Maintain workplace safety and housekeeping standards.
Sweep, clean, and ensure order in designated areas.
Requirements
Grade 12 / Higher Certificate (NQF Level 4–5).
Basic knowledge of steel products and material grades.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Familiarity with using measuring equipment.
Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
