These General Worker roles support the City of Tshwane’s Group Property Department by performing routine
manual labour and providing physical assistance across offices and facilities. The work contributes to
daily operations, asset management, and the upkeep of municipal buildings and workshops.
Duties:
Ou Raadsaal Building (GPDD053-2026)
Perform general routine manual work for Group Property
Assist offices of group heads, divisional heads, and administrative sections
Provide physical assistance with movable asset management
Help load and move assets disposed of according to approved plans
Bosman Street Workshop (GPDD054-2026)
Sweep workshop floors and clean drains and pits
Clean work levels, machines, and tools allocated to artisans
Report lost or damaged tools
Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
Carry out instructions received from supervisors
Requirements:
Basic literacy
Ability to execute manual duties
Physical fitness and good health
Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (Bosman Street Workshop role)
Relevant experience in manual labour or workshop cleaning is an added advantage
Applicants must undergo a criminal record check and allow fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro
Police Department at their own cost.
