Weir Minerals is hiring a GR Operator (Painter) to support production goals and maintain high housekeeping standards within the Rubber Plant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
🔒 Safety First:
Uphold Weir’s “Zero Harm” safety philosophy
Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies
⚙️ Technical/Operational Tasks:
Paint and touch up castings as required
Clean components with thinners before applying paint
Apply grease and protective coatings (tectyle)
Label painted parts based on material IDs
Inspect painted parts for minor defects
Run and verify receiving reports, working with the Receiving Team to resolve issues
Perform cycle counts and monitor ageing Work-in-Progress (WIP) items
Maintain order and cleanliness in the GR (Goods Receiving) area in line with 6S and 5S standards
Ensure critical components in the Machine Shop are managed efficiently
Report equipment misuse or damage to the Shift Leader
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience or a mix of training and practical work
Licenses:
Valid driver’s license
Forklift license
Overhead crane license
