Job Purpose:
Bidvest International Logistics is looking for an experienced Reach Stacker Driver to join the team in Rosslyn. The role involves operating a reach stacker for safe and efficient handling of containers according to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Grade 12 or equivalent
License: Code C45 – capable of operating up to 45 tons
Experience:
2–3 years operating a reach stacker
2+ years using Warehouse Management Systems (e.g., binning, picking tables)
Key Responsibilities:
Container Handling & Yard Operations:
Receive, store, and dispatch shipping line containers
Update and maintain pre- and post-shift machine registers
Report and help resolve irregularities or issues
Check containers against quality assurance standards
Safely load/unload containers in accordance with BIL QWI procedures
Accurately record all container movements in the system
Meet daily container movement targets and report discrepancies
Ensure safety when loading/unloading from trailers
Machine Operation & Maintenance:
Operate the reach stacker safely and responsibly
Perform daily equipment inspections and report any problems immediately
Keep the equipment clean and well-maintained
Follow all safety guidelines and wear proper PPE
General Duties:
Support the supervisor as needed
Maintain a clean and organized work environment (5S principles)
Adhere to all SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment), ISO, and company policies
Report incidents promptly
Participate in continuous improvement (Blue Area discussions)
Be available for overtime if needed
