About the Programme
Groundsmen are responsible for the upkeep of gardens, lawns, and surrounding areas of government buildings. This includes routine maintenance, horticultural care, and ensuring safety and cleanliness of premises.
Requirements:
▪︎ Grade 10/Standard 8 or ABET Level 4
▪︎ Are willing to work outdoors and handle physical tasks
▪︎ Have basic literacy and communication skills
▪︎ Can operate gardening tools and equipment safely
▪︎ Are reliable, organized, and attentive to detai
Duties:
Groundsmen duties include:
▪︎ Cleaning premises and surroundings, including emptying dirt bins
▪︎ Watering gardens, pruning flowers and trees, mowing grass
Removing weeds, dead plants, and garden refuse
▪︎ Applying insecticides and cultivating soil for plants
▪︎ Maintaining and repairing gardening tools and equipment
▪︎ Cleaning protective clothing and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards
▪︎ Reporting any challenges or equipment malfunctions
