Security Officers support the safety and protection of government buildings, staff, and assets.
The role includes monitoring access points, conducting patrols, recording security incidents, and assisting with emergency safety procedures.
This position forms part of the Security Management Services responsible for maintaining physical security at the department’s Head Office.
Who Should Apply
You may qualify for this role if you have:
Grade 10 or ABET Level 3
PSIRA Registration Certificate (Grades E, D, and C)
Applicants should also have knowledge of:
Security legislation
Minimum Physical Security Standards (MISS)
Risk management
Firefighting procedures
First aid
Responsibilities include:
Access Control and Security Monitoring
Control and monitor entry and exit points
Ensure safety and security of buildings, premises, and surrounding areas
Monitor the movement of movable assets
Patrol and Incident Reporting
Conduct regular patrols of the premises
Identify and report security breaches or suspicious activities
Maintain accurate security records and logs
