About the Role

Tsebo Facilities Solutions is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to monitor workplace activities and ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in preventing occupational injuries, incidents, and illnesses by implementing proactive safety programs in line with the Master Service Agreement and all applicable legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Delivery

Monitor and assess hazardous conditions, implementing control measures to ensure a safe work environment.

Recommend, implement, and promote health and safety policies and awareness initiatives.

Conduct HSE inductions, hazard awareness campaigns, and training sessions.

Support hazard identification and risk assessment processes.

Participate in and assist with accident investigations, reports, and record-keeping.

Implement preventive measures to reduce incidents and injuries.

Oversee health and safety management for contractors and on-site construction teams.

Conduct workplace and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Participate in internal and external HSE audits and provide improvement recommendations.

Develop, review, and train staff on emergency procedures and response plans.

Track and report on HSE performance indicators and trends.

Maintain accurate records of training, certifications, and safety incidents.

Work closely with management to implement corrective actions and monitor progress.

Ensure employees performing hazardous tasks receive proper training and supervision.

Customer Focus

Promote a customer-first attitude in all safety-related interactions.

Respond promptly to HSE queries and client concerns.

Support teams in improving operational efficiency and safety performance.

Resolve or escalate client queries in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting

Compile and present monthly safety statistics and trend analyses.

Ensure accurate completion and submission of accident and incident reports.

Conduct root cause analyses and prepare investigation reports.

Submit regular safety reports to management as required.

Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12.

National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (NQF Level 5 or equivalent).

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a health and safety environment, ideally within a high-traffic site.

Familiarity with OHS Act, WCA/COID, NOSA/ISO standards, and OSHA compliance.

Experience in fire prevention, industrial hygiene, and safety risk management.
