About the Role
TsAfrika, part of the Tsebo Solutions Group, is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to oversee workplace compliance with food safety, health, and occupational safety standards.
The role ensures that statutory requirements are met, risks are managed, and a culture of safety is promoted across operations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee health and safety investigations, inspections, and audits.
Promote awareness and enforce compliance with the OHS Act and food safety standards.
Review procedures, policies, and corrective actions to address non-compliance.
Maintain and improve the SHE management system for efficiency and effectiveness.
Conduct unannounced site inspections to monitor staff readiness.
Collect food samples and maintain accurate QA documentation.
Manage health and safety administration, reporting, and record-keeping.
Ensure hygiene and cleanliness standards are upheld in line with company policy.
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and telephonic).
Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail.
Professional, results-driven, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Confident engaging with all levels of management.
Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification (essential).
SAMTRAC or a recognized Health & Safety qualification.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
Proven experience managing a SHE system.
Solid knowledge of OHS Act policies and procedures.
