The Household Aid will support the hospital’s Support Services Directorate by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in residential areas.
The role focuses on cleaning facilities, managing waste, and ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for staff and residents.
Requirements:
Have NQF Level 1 or 2 (ABET Level 2 or equivalent)
Are able to read and write
Can perform physically demanding tasks
Work well in a team and under pressure
Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Are willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
Duties:
The Household Aid will assist with cleaning and maintenance duties, including:
Maintaining a clean and secure residential environment
Cleaning flats, rooms, floors, stairs, lifts, and offices
Disinfecting toilets, showers, and sluice areas
Dusting flats and washing windows
Collecting and disposing of general waste in designated areas
Collecting cleaning materials and waste bags
Reporting maintenance issues to the supervisor
Disinfecting rooms or flats before allocation
Following safety regulations and hygiene procedures
Performing duties assigned by the housekeeper on duty
