Job Overview
Macsteel Coil Processing is looking for a proactive, customer-driven Internal Sales representative to join their team. The ideal candidate must have strong communication abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the capability to build and maintain solid customer relationships in a busy, target-driven environment.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4–5
At least 3 years’ sales experience, preferably in a contracts/projects environment
Steel industry experience (advantageous)
Good understanding of coil processing products
Valid Code B driver’s license
Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Intermediate proficiency in SAP and internal systems
Strong teamwork and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Able to work effectively under pressure in a results-driven setting
Strong customer service orientation
Good administrative and presentation skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately process and capture sales orders and prepare quotations
Generate and issue purchase orders
Communicate product requirements to the purchasing department
Share new sales leads with external reps and management
Work with production and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery
Liaise with procurement regarding buyouts and local purchases
Keep customers updated on order progress and take corrective action when needed
Assist with timely processing of credit and debit notes
Achieve and exceed monthly sales and gross profit targets
Follow up on outstanding quotes and orders
Answer customer calls professionally and courteously
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Provide management with updates regarding quotes, orders, stock shortages, and service challenges
