🎯 Role Purpose
The Junior Fire Fighter will respond to and manage all fire-related incidents and emergencies under supervision.
The role includes firefighting, emergency rescue services, fire prevention, basic medical care, and maintenance of firefighting equipment.
🔥 Key Responsibilities
Respond to fire, rescue, and emergency incidents under supervision.
Manage incidents involving hazardous substances (Hazmat).
Perform rescue and casualty extrication operations.
Provide basic medical care and emergency response.
Operate firefighting and breathing apparatus equipment safely and effectively.
Conduct fire prevention inspections and advise on corrective measures.
Participate in training drills, simulation exercises, and physical fitness programs.
Train staff on fire prevention and firefighting procedures.
Maintain firefighting equipment and vehicles in operational condition.
Complete incident reports and occurrence logs accurately.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 / Matric (minimum requirement).
IFSAC Accredited.
NFPA 1001 Firefighter II Certification.
Minimum 2 years’ firefighting experience.
Valid driver’s license (advanced driving an advantage).
Medically and physically fit for active duty.
Clear criminal record.
Understanding of fire chemistry, fire prevention systems, and Hazmat guidelines.
EMT Certification and First Aid Level 1–3 (advantageous).
Basic Ambulance Attendant certificate beneficial.
