Role Purpose

The Junior Webmaster role provides hands-on operational support in maintaining, updating, and managing the quality of websites within the Schools Division. Working closely with the Webmaster, the role focuses on preparing content, updating web pages, ensuring consistency, and conducting routine checks to maintain accurate, functional, and brand-aligned digital platforms. This position contributes to delivering a polished and professional online presence across multiple brands.


Key Responsibilities

Website Maintenance

Prepare and publish content across assigned websites.

Update website text, images, forms, and widgets with precision.

Ensure websites display correctly across desktop and mobile devices.

Optimise and compress images prior to upload.

Perform routine CMS maintenance tasks, including plugin checks, broken link audits, and page reviews.

Identify and report website functionality issues to the Webmaster.

Website Design, Development & Implementation

Support layout adjustments under the guidance of the Webmaster.

Prepare content blocks, templates, and page structures.

Assist with the launch of new websites or microsites by loading content, testing pages, and preparing digital assets.

Performance Monitoring

Generate basic website performance reports using tools such as Google Analytics.

Apply campaign tags and labels within the CMS when required.

Monitor user behaviour metrics and escalate irregularities when identified.

User Support

Assist administrative users with content publishing queries.

Create simple user manuals or step-by-step guides when needed.

Log user requests and escalate tasks that require advanced technical intervention.


Qualifications

Certificate or Diploma in Web Design, Digital Media, IT, or a related field.

Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Working knowledge of Photoshop or similar image-editing software.


Experience

1 year’ experience as a Website Content Assistant or similar role.

1 year’ experience as a Front-End Intern or Digital Support Assistant.
