Purpose of the Role:
Ensure all CHG hospitals have a sufficient supply of clean, infection-free linen by performing laundry operations including washing, sorting, and cleaning according to strict hygiene standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualification equivalent to NQF Level 5.
1–2 years’ experience in laundry operations.
Previous work experience in a private hospital environment is preferred.
Key Duties:
Follow CHG, Laundry, and Health & Safety protocols at all times.
Receive and sort soiled linen according to category and treatment requirements.
Maintain records of damaged or condemned linen.
Operate laundry machinery correctly, reporting any faults to the shift lead or manager.
Wash, dry, fold, and prepare linen to meet daily targets.
Keep the laundry facility clean and well-maintained.
Stock laundry supplies as needed.
Pack and tag clean linen for distribution.
Comply with infection control guidelines throughout all processes.
