This hands-on role is perfect for someone eager to build a career in engineering and maintenance. You’ll support artisans and supervisors in maintaining, repairing, and cleaning equipment—ensuring operations run safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Maintenance Support
Assist with dismantling, assembling, and installing equipment under supervision
Support breakdowns and maintenance activities as needed
Perform plant walk-downs and inspections to identify issues early
Conduct lubrication schedules and ensure proper maintenance practices
Operate mobile plant equipment to assist with vehicle offloading or part replacements
🧹 Housekeeping & Safety
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop
Identify and report hazards, risks, or maintenance issues immediately
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
Participate in risk assessments and ensure compliance with company policies
Minimum Requirements
🎓 Qualifications
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 (with Maths & Science an advantage)
Relevant NATED courses (e.g., N3 Certificate)
Valid Code B Driver’s Licence
💡 Experience & Skills
At least 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Assistant
Strong knowledge of hand tools and basic maintenance techniques
Understanding of safety practices and site procedures
English language proficiency
