ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The position is for a Medical Night Duty Receptionist/Administrator working in a radiology reception environment at Sunward Park Hospital.

This is a permanent position with night-duty hours from Monday to Sunday, 18:00 to 06:00, every second week.

The successful candidate will welcome and assist patients, capture and update information, check medical aid benefits, provide examination quotes, process payments, arrange CT and MRI bookings, handle enquiries and complete various administrative duties.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome all patients warmly and show empathy where needed.

Capture patient information correctly and check information while typing.

Capture at least 6 patients per hour.

Check medical aid benefits.

Prepare quotes for examinations and take co-payments or short payments from medical aids.

Understand and follow the protocol for emergency patients.

Ensure terms and conditions are signed.

Book patients for CT and MRI scans.

Provide preparation information for CT and MRI examinations.

Obtain authorisation for all examinations.

Process payments for private patients, including walk-in and in-hospital patients.

Allocate payments to the correct invoices.

Obtain and scan relevant WCA documents for workplace injuries or diseases.

Scan and attach relevant documents to the correct patient profile.

Resolve telephone enquiries.

Work with the Radiography Team Leader and Head Office staff to maintain an efficient workflow between departments.

Participate in monthly staff meetings and small-group meetings.

Make suggestions for improvement.
