About the Role
Gold One Group Limited is seeking an experienced Mine Overseer (Grading D5) to join the Gedex Project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing underground mining operations, ensuring production efficiency, legal compliance, and adherence to safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
At least 5 years of active underground production experience.
Strong knowledge of all underground mining activities.
Proven experience in trackless mining, including decline, footwall, and on-reef development.
Experience in high stoping width operations (essential).
Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines.
Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence for Metalliferous Mines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficient in English and at least one other official South African language.
South African citizenship and a clear criminal record.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure safe and timely transportation of personnel, materials, explosives, and equipment.
Manage and monitor delivery schedules for materials and equipment to designated areas.
Control material issuance and ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
Coordinate with maintenance planners to ensure all maintenance schedules are met.
Monitor production targets, variances, and equipment usage to minimize wastage.
Oversee production systems and processes to prevent breakdowns and delays.
Supervise waste removal from underground to surface holding areas.
Maintain accurate documentation and records for auditing and compliance.
Conduct investigations into incidents and accidents, ensuring all safety measures are upheld.
Provide regular production and safety reports.
Enforce adherence to the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Gold One’s safety principle:
