Job Summary
PPC is looking for an experienced Mixer Driver to operate concrete mixer trucks and ensure timely delivery of ready-mix concrete to various construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and cleaning the mixer truck, adhering to safety regulations, and ensuring quality and efficiency during deliveries.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric) and an external driver certification.
Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with PDP.
Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a concrete mixer truck.
Ability to drive straight, auto/semi-auto, and split gearbox vehicles (Mercedes Benz, FAW, Fuso).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be physically fit, healthy, and medically cleared.
Good eyesight, hearing, and speech.
Knowledge of road transport legislation.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect vehicle and mixer before starting work each day.
Report mechanical or operational issues to the Supervisor.
Clean, grease, and maintain the vehicle regularly.
Manage and monitor tyre condition and usage.
Transport concrete loads to and from sites according to schedule.
Plan and follow the best routes for delivery.
Operate the mixer safely to discharge concrete at sites.
Adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Perform additional duties as instructed by the Supervisor.
