Job Summary
Clinix Health Group is seeking two Post Basic Pharmacist Assistants to join the pharmacy team at Tshepo Themba Private Hospital. The successful candidates will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to prepare, label, and dispense medication accurately and efficiently to patients, wards, and theatres.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Certificate.
Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
Knowledge of SAP or similar systems.
Advanced computer literacy.
Retail or general healthcare experience will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the pharmacist with preparing, labeling, and supplying prescribed medicines.
Compound, mix, or prepare non-sterile and sterile medicines as per standard operating procedures.
Package and repackage medicines under supervision.
Dispense medication to wards, discharged patients, and theatre staff as directed by the pharmacist.
Manage and control stock of Schedule 1 and 2 medicines.
Ensure all medication is verified and signed off by a pharmacist before release.
Conduct cycle counts and assist with stock audits and reports.
Receive and check incoming stock according to procedures.
Provide basic health advice and product information to patients and customers.
