About the Role

As the first point of contact for guests arriving late or departing early, the Night Receptionist ensures every visitor receives a warm welcome and professional serviceβ€”no matter the hour.
You’ll handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, guest queries, and support night audit operations, all while maintaining the calm and efficiency that defines excellent hospitality.

This position is ideal for someone with strong communication and organizational skills who enjoys working independently during night shifts.


Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist guests during late check-ins and early check-outs.

Complete End-of-Day procedures and generate financial reports via the Property Management System (PMS).

Manage online and phone reservations with accuracy and professionalism.

Verify and process guest payments according to standard operating procedures.

Record guest information, including identification, contact, and payment details.

Resolve outstanding charges or discrepancies before morning handover.

Allocate rooms for early arrivals and coordinate with the morning team.

Act as the main guest relations contact at night, addressing issues and escalating when necessary.

Liaise with housekeeping to ensure rooms are guest-ready and meet quality standards.

Confirm group bookings and provide tailored VIP services.

Promote and upsell hotel amenities and services.

Support the Night Auditor with administrative and financial reporting.

Collect and summarize guest feedback for inclusion in daily briefings.

Work alongside security to ensure the safety of guests and hotel property overnight.


Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / National Certificate (essential).

Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages advantageous.

Professional appearance and confident communication skills.

Strong mathematical, administrative, and organizational ability.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and hotel software (preferably OPERA).

Calm under pressure, proactive, and customer-focused.

Comfortable working night shifts and managing responsibilities independently.
